Epoch ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Epoch — AI Time Travel Camera mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Apple ID Credentials: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier, and optionally your name and email address (only if you choose to share them). We use your Apple user identifier to authenticate your account.
• Photos: When you use the time travel feature, you upload photos from your device. These photos are sent to our AI processing servers to generate transformed images.
• Chat Messages: When you interact with the AI Time Guide (Chrono), your messages are sent to a third-party AI service for processing.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for analytics and service improvement.
• Usage Data: We may collect information about how you interact with the App, such as features used, eras selected, and session duration.
• Purchase History: We record in-app purchase transactions (Time Sands) to maintain your balance.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the App's features and functionality.
• To process your photos through AI image generation services.
• To provide AI-powered chat responses via the Time Guide feature.
• To process in-app purchases and maintain your Time Sands balance.
• To authenticate your identity and manage your account.
• To analyze usage patterns and improve user experience.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Facial and Photo Data

3.1 What Facial Data We Collect

When you use the time travel transformation feature, you voluntarily upload photos that may contain your face or the faces of others. We collect only the photo images you choose to submit. We do not perform facial recognition, facial geometry mapping, biometric identification, or create facial templates or faceprints. No facial data is extracted or stored separately from the photos you upload.

3.2 How We Use Facial Data

Photos containing facial imagery are used solely for the purpose of generating AI-powered time travel transformation images. Specifically:

• Your uploaded photo is sent to a third-party AI image generation service to create a stylized version of you in a selected historical era.
• The AI service processes the entire image (not just the face) to produce the transformation.
• We do not use your facial data for advertising, profiling, facial recognition, identity verification, or any purpose other than generating the requested transformation.

3.3 Third-Party Sharing of Facial Data

Your photos (which may contain facial imagery) are shared with a third-party AI image processing service solely for generating the time travel transformation. This third-party service:

• Receives your photo only for the duration of processing the transformation request.
• Does not retain, store, or use your photos for any other purpose after processing is complete.
• Does not use your photos to train AI models.

We do not share your facial data with any other third parties for marketing, analytics, or any other purpose.

3.4 Storage of Facial Data

• On our servers: Photos uploaded for transformation are transmitted securely via HTTPS and are not permanently stored on our servers. They exist in server memory only during the active processing of your request.
• On your device: Your original photos remain on your device. Generated transformation results are stored locally on your device in the App's history section.

3.5 Retention of Facial Data

Your uploaded photos are retained on our servers only for the duration of the transformation processing, typically a few seconds to a few minutes. Once the AI-generated result is delivered to your device, the uploaded photo is immediately deleted from our servers and the third-party processing service. No copies are retained. Generated results stored on your device persist until you manually delete them or delete your account.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Your Apple user identifier is stored securely in the device Keychain.
• Your user preferences and Time Sands balance are stored locally on your device.
• Your time travel history (generated images) is stored locally on your device.
• Photos uploaded for AI processing are transmitted securely but are not permanently stored on our servers.
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• AI Image Processing: Your photos are sent to third-party AI services to generate time travel transformations. These services process your photos solely for generating the requested output and do not retain your images after processing is complete.
• AI Chat Service (OpenRouter): Your chat messages with the AI Time Guide are processed by OpenRouter. Messages are not permanently stored by us.
• Apple Sign In: Authentication is handled through Apple's Sign in with Apple service.
• Apple StoreKit: In-app purchases are processed through Apple's payment system.
• AppsFlyer: We may use AppsFlyer for analytics and attribution purposes.

6. Data Retention

• Your account data is retained as long as your account is active.
• Uploaded photos are retained only during active processing (typically seconds to minutes) and are deleted immediately after the transformation result is delivered.
• Time travel history is stored locally on your device until you clear it or delete your account.
• When you delete your account, all local data including your credentials, history, and Time Sands balance are permanently removed.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time through the App's Settings page.
• Opt out of analytics data collection.
• Control photo and camera access permissions through your device settings.
• Request information about how your facial data has been used.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
